BROKEN HOME

A little wind blew
On a sandy ground
Shaking the foundation of its building
The shaking fell the building
Instead of falling back on land
The ceiling got in between like grass
In an elephant and grass-land fight
Now the land and roofing stifle the ceiling
And society watches
Doing little but talks where much reigned

II
Blood of character leaves the ceiling
Strength of their creators stunting their growing
Where are eyes and minds in a pride and ego fight?
Probably busy on a vacation
Sad

GOD OF HOST

Photo0021

Croak, croak croak!!!

Instead of cocks crowing,

Frogs’ croaking have become the wake call

The breezes act with decorum

Blowing north, south, east to the west

It’s as though they’ve been schooled

Schooled for evenness

II

This day,

Beautiful birds glow

On centre stages of muscular and firm trees

“Pi, pi, pi ri pi

Kwi kwi kwi, kwi kwi kwi kwi,

Fi fi fi fiii, fi ri fi

Ta da tadaa ta da daaa”

Beautiful undecipherable lyrics dance in their tunes

Promising a wonderful day

III

Like an expectant ant,

I crawl, mostly unseen by eyes

waiting for the mannas while searching for food

This Sunday must live up to its name

Let it be a sunny day

Like a Fanti soup maker,

Sieve all chaffs out

Receive the cleanest worship

And light this world with some sweet answerings

FREE ME

image

I
Like rivers travelling to sea
Like airs roaming with no fee
Like mountains sitting in glee
I need to be free

II
I am a river
Looking for my sea
I am an air
Looking to be good breath
I am a mountain
Waiting for that one climber
Just give me space
And make me free

III
Free to move
Free to dance
Free to shout
“O uu o u woooooo”
Free to laugh
“Ha ha ha ha ha”
Free to cry
Free to stare
Free to fly
Up, up into the sky
To be so high.

A WALKING PEACE

dove_peace-5555px

Happily married trees

Pavements lying in obedience

Lawns so flirty

A peace so surreal

Like Mrs. Ohui Allotey

II

With her words

Walking in sneakers

And her brains working like angels

Nothing beats a Mrs. Ohui Allotey presence

III

She took us and brought us

To an embracing peace so beautiful

Softly singing her old tunes so marvelously

That’s so Mrs. Ohui Allotey

IV

Learned, read

Caring, and rare

I can’t sacrifice my Mrs. Allotey presence

Not even for  IEA’s, though it exudes deliverance and purity

HA!

They fight seriously

Why? Look here, ground-nuts and beans!

Fighting for nothing

Is like falling into grounds

Full of herbivoric pests

II

As a leaf, I probed

Beans claim superiority

For being flower-borns

As ground-nuts claim bosshood for

Being root borns, how trivial!

III

You silly fighting beans,

Don’t you know you depend on roots

To flourish? And you

Silly ground-nuts, who sees you

Until your murder moments?

IV

In a situation

Where you both hide in clothes,

Does it make sense that you fight?

Know you also share some complexions

Aren’t some of you white and others red?

V

Until your brains tire,

By all means pump your fire

And fight to the finish,

Forgetting the nutrients you both possess

Which many yearn to live well

You also mostly end up together; in pots

LET AFRICA DANCE

FLOWER

When hands suffer to beat drums

And parched throats wince as they taste rums

Feet must be whipped when they stay calm

II

As the hands make the sounds

Let the feet do the rounds

Like possessed by the gods who watch

III

Africa is a dancing god

Africans are dancers for the sun and moon

Only fireflies must be ignored

IV

So dance till sorrows turn sweat

Dance, till sickness regrets

Dance till colours speak for themselves

This light is the light from shinning dark

I NEED A LIGHT

plus.google.com
plus.google.com

I need a light

To lighten my path

As I take a stroll

In my static state

Like a lying statue

II

I need a light

To show me all

The stumps

The stones

And the trappy pits

III

I need a light

To show me faces

So I can know

One who goes my pace

To make this journey

A lively one

IV

I need a light

To see those I meet

To know the fights

And fly like a kite

When powers run out

I need a light

I need that light

I need that light

To make me tight

TROUBLED WATERS (HAIKU)

Lion_Porcupine_II

Earth closes its mouth

When lions ‘void porcupines

Need I mention more?

II

Long, long, long ago,

When lion was known as the king

He took liberties

III

When his game finished

He decided porcupine

Is fit to replace

IV

He meant to hit it

Only for thousands of pins

To stand in shooting

V

With tail in between

Thighs, lion run vacating his throne

That’s trouble-calling

VI

So let the earth rest

As you mark troubled places

So rivers lie cool

GOD’S SPECTACLE

link2power.org
link2power.org

Through God’s spectacle

There is no human receptacle

He needs no oracle

To tell Him what happens in His tabernacle

He gave us combined chronicle

To work with but we are comical

Doing opposites and needing a miracle

Humans are like pigs and it’s terrible

Look, we know our state is curable

All we need is love so durable

But we’ve made it so impossible

That even God finds it difficult to follow our parable

But He still finds us adorable

Knowing our change is plausible

But we wear our sins and look nautical

Even when death’s ship catches our optical

Look this is diabolical

My words won’t be metaphorical

Just know we’re repairable

And let’s stop being our own obstacle

Or we make God’s dream chimerical

And that for Him will be unbearable

For our good is his arable

And He needs not to see Himself as a debacle

Satan’s boats needs many a barnacle

But His living treatments are unbearable

So let’s see through God’s spectacle

Then our joy and goodness will be palpable

Sleep like a sleepy sleeky bear

Sent to see but has no cares

Stop sure stuffs of selling sicks

Of rough wrong bites of day’s teeth

II

Sleep like a sleepy nice kitten

In a bed with huge hugging hems

Heating in cold and healing in heat

A yawn is bliss deserving a kiss

III

Sleep like the falls on mountain tops

Descending the dry and deepening depths

Conquering all and moving on

Exploring for a better restful place

IV

Sleep alone

Let the world deal with worries

Sleep in peace

Let the pests deal with pieces

Sleep like a lake

Let the fakes run the stakes

You need a clear head on a daily basis

ALPHABETICAL PRAYER

god_is_love

A day

Bare of hurts

Caressed by care

Dreaded by death

II

Emancipate us

From all ear thunders

Greatly warming our blankets with

Heat of earthly goodies

III

Irrespective of our transgressions

Join forces with peace to

Kill thoughts too heavy

Lying on our peace of minds

IV

Marry our hearts with kindness always

No hatred must be allowed in

Open access to warmth for all

Painting light where dark reigns

V

Quench all thirsts

Remind us of same blood

Sack poverty and need

Tell us tales of a good tomorrow

VI

Umbrella all hurtful rains and be our

Vine in all spheres

Work with wellness to eliminate sicknesses and I’ll play you a

Xylophone to warm your ears

You and only you can

Zip our happiness

A TIME OF GIVING

images

Days have dragged us to

Christmastide hoping for love

Urging mouths to smile

II

Harmattan pampers

African soil, winter frowns

Loud on foreign lands

III

It is a challenge

For blood to boil in live terms

So let goodness flow

IV

Don’t murder birds to

Chew alone, try thinking free

And bless the others

V

You can ignore grown

Plants who bears no fruit but don’t

Ignore the young shoots

VI

If they are watered

Right, next season it’ll grow to

Feed, so feed their seeds

V

Love and love freely

It is a season of love

And so love we must show

Amoafowaa Sefa Cecilia (c) 2014

(Merry Christmas to all my Christian followers and all who read on amoafowaa.com. Jesus is the reason for the season, preach Christ, preach love. I love Ghana, because this is the place Muslims celebrate Christmas and Christians celebrate Salah. We are one people, one nation, one world, let’s see it as such. Blessings.)

ANGELIC FLIRTING

You stand afar

Shining like a star

I lie on the bed of darkness

Yearning for your touch of sweetness

Please come!

Come to me

II

I have many yearnings

But have little earnings

I look at you and I know

That only you can shame my foe

So please come!

Come to me

III

I need your touch in this heat

Because I know like ice it can soak my feet

And lift my thoughts like a cap

And let me have this sweet nap

So please come!

Come to me

IV

With your wings guarding my bed

I know none will venture my shed

Because this territory will be flagged red

And my wandering soul will be well fed

So just come!

Just come to me

V

When you come

Let me see thee

For you’re stuck with me

Although you’re an angel

I’ll behave then

And will surely feel more secured

GURUS OF ENCOURAGEMENT

encouragement

There is a home far from my head

Where many people go to be heard

Where many sorrows are always aired

And many preys go to be cursefully blessed

II

With all its vices and uncanny danger

I find sanity always rocking there in a manger

Sanity which makes me a great manager

Taking me away from grounds I’m made a stranger

III

I see you

I feel you

I know you who tries hard too

And you who shakes to fully boo

IV

And thanks to you, I find peace

Thanks to you I see the pieces

Of life as forms to make one piece

It is a jungle of thoughts which needs to seize

But many good ones impact brightly giving us sanity and peace

Amoafowaa Sefa Cecilia (c) 2014

(I say thank you to all those who help me maintain my sanity in my path of trying to put thoughts of some girls in the right. Your words nurse my soul from its constant heartbreaks. Blessings.)

TASTE YOURSELVES

shame-on-you

In this stormy era

Where sounds listen to sounds

And birds bed

I’m calling on you;

Yes you:

Death

Hurt

Hatred

Pain

Sadness

Sickness

Shame

To stand firm

And taste yourselves

When you’re done,

Please give us detailed reports

On death’s death

Hurt’s hurt,

Hatred’s hatred,

Pain’s pain

Sadness’ sadness

Sickness’s sickness

And Shame’s shame

If you really loved the experience

All will shut up

And let you stay

But if you loathe it

Take the vice versa

Then we’ll call out the other botherers

To follow suit

LET PEACE STAY (TANKA)

www.khrag.org

As the speakers sound

Loudly at 4am and the

Churches beam with drums,

Tamborines, songs of worship,

We hope for a calm good day

II

But like always, robbers

Prepare for their escapades

Prophetic rituals

Call on minds of vulnerables

And needy and sorrowful

III

Can we talk of the

Cunning tricksters, whose carvings

Beat minds of sages?

Ah! If you don’t know, then you

Have never been their victim

IV

Would we leave out the

Planning murderers Who zap

Lives they cannot give?

Even tears of the short lived

Cry to harm our peaceful air

V

And the others follow

I will say, a pox on you!

You whose thoughts would break

Hell today and make history

Stain with gumptions on the clear

A JOY OF BLESSINGS

mary andnbaby Jesus

Amidst the joy

There was a ploy

To kill the boy

Just like a toy

II

Soldiers were deployed

To act bold and never be coy,

And kill all, even the decoys.

They were allowed to all tactics employ

III

There were shepherds of joy

For the given boy

This news, the king annoyed

And asked for his head to enjoy

IV

Man is no God

The gods lost their gourds

Geographers lost their boards

As the boy lived as Lord

V

This time I’ll live

Because I do believe

That even in death’s sieve

I’ll cling and live

VI

My enemies are striving

For a smooth diving

I know they’re crying

So why indulge in chiding?

VII

Take a cue

Your time is due

Your case is being reviewed

Laugh now, your enemy would be sued

In the land of Parts of Speech

All resolve my yearnings to teach

But indulge in verbal breach

Rendering me an outcast

II

See, they couple by inflections

And I couple by base, no inflections

My lonely sound bounce back in deflections

Because of the addition of ‘s’ to my name; ‘Shows’

III

Now Tables have labels

“All with inflections to the stables”

And I’m pulled among like unwanted cables

And gagged to stifle my lone status

IV

All I wanted to tell

Ringing without wind. I’m in a cell

Because I seem double in singleton

If nouns do get verbs

And verbs do get nouns

Words would live in harmony in sentences

TRIGGERS AND FIGURES (TANKA)

Anger lies within

Everything God’s breath is in

It can be the sun

It can also be the rain

And can also be the wind

II

Who stands this fury?

The fury of the sun burns

That of the rain floods

And the fury of wind kills

To think they pleasure in calm

III

All have their triggers

We’ve got to learn their triggers

If we get to know

Then our provocation stops

And we get our safety belts

ERECTED INFECTIONS

I’m an infection

I’m an infection of satisfaction

An infection which needs no direction

Because this infection causes no commotion

II

I’m an infection

An infection of happy erections

Erections which give many affection

Affection without commotion

III

I’m an infection

An infection many need in sections

Because of my goody attraction

I love being a blessed infection

IV

You too are an infection

An infection with many dimensions

You get to choose your erections

Good or bad, it is your intention

V

If you choose to be a bad infection

Many will like a plague fight your erections

And when you need affection

Your life will seize with many’s direction

VI

So choose an infection

Which needs no cruel direction

An infection many crave for affection

And none will give any viable sanctions

Accompanied by the little stars

Who leave grandly in their own time

IV

If only we were sky beings

We’d know harmony

And see with delight

We’d leave and come

Without a spark

We’d love ourselves

Too bad we’re watching

Too bad we’re not seeing

Let alone learn

Seeping down like wine

Poisoning with every step and moaning

Stay and be dissolved into happy pacts

Instead of killing

BLEEDING MOODS

When dogs bark at night

And owls hoot in support

And thunders shout in fright

Worry infested thoughts explain

“This is pure witchraft

How can this be?

Dogs are barking

Owls are hooting

Thunders are striking

They’re surely out to get me”

Interpretations about with mood

II

Let there be peace

Let there be health

Let there be wealth

Let there be a companion on the right hand

And happy possessed thoughts explain

“These night beings

They feel it all

Happiness

Love,

Luck and all

They surely smell from the night”

Interpretations about with mood

III

Don’t let your mood

Give your thoughts food

It might be good

It might be bad

Be sure to be a brooding brood

We don’t need our mood

Overtaking our good

Scents in high heels

Rudely preceding your bearer

Pulling him on strings

Laughing through my toffee

And spewing nonsensicals to maim my heart

II

Scents with noise

In a loud voice

Carrying daggers of separation

Do you have buttocks for a seat?

Do you have ears for a talk?

II

Please have a care

And know your character

You make me nauseous

Causing passions to flee for the light of my heart

And you blind his touch

III

You make him want

What he can’t hold sober

In your short travel to his being in madness

Please leave and let us be

Haven’t I suffered enough abuse at your hands?

IV

Your destruction is palpable

Even in temples

Your bombs kill to ashes

Wherever you show

Give me back mine and go make love to your bottle, please

TIMES OF OLD

I

Seeing heaven open and close

In a sheltered happy home

Counting the stars lying on back

Feeling sky’s tears and its angry scratches

Are tucked safely in my happy  mind box

II

 Our farms gave us food

As streams quenched our thirst

The air had flings with the many trees

And whispered in the process

Goodness! And we were the beneficiaries of their passions

III

The farms had plants which smiled with opened palms

And had leaves swaying and  dancing

Even when we uprooted some

They served in diligence and love

Being the Boasiakos who gave their heads in loyalty to save mankind

IV

Here I am

Missing their view

Missing their taste

Missing their nourishment

And deceiving myself of gaining class

V

I miss the scent of earth

I miss the scent of simplicity

I miss the beauty of the greens

I miss the times of young years

And I miss beings seeing me for me

KWAKU SEARCHES HAPPINESS (TANKA)

surprising-science-happiness-video

I

Kwaku searched and searched

To steal and have happiness

His search was futile

But he kept at it with hope

Stalking every smiling face

II

He bought spectacles

And bought guns to scare and seize,

Saved money to please,

And bought handcuffs to cuff him

When he catches him at last

III

He went to churches,

Interrogated Imams

He went to all monks

Hired pilots to search the sky

But all yielded no results

IV

He then met a child

And asked about happiness

The child told him this:

Sincerely, it lives in us

You only need to search you

V

Kwaku sat and thought

It’s what the pastor told him

Same for the Imam

He needs to arrest himself

In thought and be so happy

MAKE MY SKY SMILE

I

Frowning fits not the sky

It makes the world so dry

Please let there be a smiling sky

So my time can go happily by

II

Darkness makes all things sly

It makes all things go awry

Let me take rest as it draws nigh

So my wake  will be free of sigh

III

Calm my winds to not go high

So friendly birds will never cry

Because many weaklings on this road ply

As they give their many a hi

IV

Clear the sky so I’ll not lie

To find a way to be in a tie

Because in the end, I’ll be the one to cry

When it’s my turn to finally die

Saving deep wounds mostly dug till death

I

We all know but refuse to acknowledge

It hides, calm like a lioness about to hunt,

Giving its prey silence to encourage

It to draw near for a catch so easily blunt

When its growth goes far beyond its storage

Its dreadful fumes will become abundant

It has no brain, everyone can confess

It destroys, so much that none can reverse

II

It is the shadow you don’t want to know

It is the destroyer without a being

It is the fearsome fire which waits to blow

It is the catastrophe none needs seen

And its aftermath forces knees to kowtow

It can run through us all even our gene

Call it anger, rage, fury or madness

Just know its needs, put a bar on its highness

IN SLEEP’S HEAVEN

Sweet Dreams

Soft light

Beautiful whispers of the air

All flowers smile

Beckoning as trees and shrubs drum and dance

While beautiful birds provide soothing music

Angels with wings receive you in their embrace

Giving you a heavenly massage

You are taken on a tour to God’s parliament

Where thoughts of pain are nil

Smiles implant themselves on mouths

Faces are devoid of hatred

It’s singing and dancing

With all needs in abundance

You see the sea

Sitting in its glory

Playing with all who want to

Without swallowing any

Then you sit in your special chair

Being attended to by many special angels

In your sleep

You are the royal to be worshipped

Dreams divine

Dream in divinity

Until you wake fulfilled

Ready to face the smiling sun

Bless my lovers and carers

Change my loathers or haters and bless them

Occupy their thoughts with fruitful activities

So they’ll forget about their hatred for me

V

I step on toes

Many step on my toes

Please help me see good toes

And heal bad toes even if mine is part

V

If there is a thing

That I covet

Help me remember the world in the coffin

And know those things mean nothing there

VI

With every compounding problem

Please be my master

Let my thoughts be your computer memory

And delete every information which weighs me down

VII

Fill me with laughter

Fill me with joy

And as I stand for all

Hear the prayer of the human race

CHARMING YOU TO SLEEP

RELAX

A shining light beckons

Go, go, go

Step into its realm

And dream

It is not sleep that beckons

It is your angel

Calling in the sweetest voice

With the best of intentions

Intentions of protection

Sleep and let thoughts weep

For the angels rise in defence

They fan and dote on you

So there is no cause for alarm

Be free and let creepies seep through the pores of nightmares

You are a superhuman

Beyond your problems

And dearly loved by your angels

You might not know or see them

But they, more than humans, root for you

A CHAOTIC DREAM

EARTH IN RUINS

I

I had a dream

A dream with God as Chair

Humans screamed their disgust

Plants and trees screamed their pain

Animals screamed life’s unfairness

The earth kept mute

II

Every stakeholder

Looked in earth’s direction

And so earth had no choice but to give a speech

“I suffer, I give and I take

And the cycle continues

What right has anyone to judge me?”

III

Humans said:

“We are born and we have to live

So we turn to the plants”

IV

Plants and trees echo:

“Sadly”

V

Earth retorts:

“And plants and trees

Are what I give

Even the seas and rivers sit on me”

VI

Humans continued:

“Even so

Why must we suffer

In death and sicknesses?”

VII

Earth said:

“Because nothing is for free

What you take you must replace

If you dig  me like a savage

For your own gain

You must enter at last

To replenish and help feed others”

VIII

God asked what humans wanted

“Immortality”

Was their answer in one voice

IX

Plants and trees sing:

“Freedom to live”

X

The seas which have been quiet all along said:

“Some peace and quiet

And freedom of sea animals to live

Without fear of humans or their fellow sea livers”

XI

Earth says:

“Then none should henceforth step on me

Sit on me nor dig me

Let me lie in peace”

XII

All the others shout:

“Impossible!”

XIII

God said:

“This cannot be

So look for other solutions”

XIV

But before He finished

War had broken

The earth shook in fury

The seas and rivers splashed everywhere

The trees shouted horrified

Humans shouted for help

Animals tried to clutch on anything

God leaves through the sky

And I struggled through sand, water, animals and fear

Into wakefulness

SLEEPING PRAYER

ANGEL

Sleep angel

Guide this star

Who shines bright

But is fragile

II

Protect this soul

From fearful screams

And let it meet

All in divine

III

Sleepy angel

Lead straight

Through the contours

Of sleep

IV

Place peace

Close and seize

Fright

Till day opens its doors

FAIRNESS

equal_rights

I need a ladder

On cloud’s palace

To see the weather

And count the malice

I need some goggles

In the air

To judge our struggles

And make it fair

No need for one to suffer

Not fair for one to enjoy

If we all suffer fair

We will work like a pair

MY STEPS (LANTURNE)

Peace

Closed

Petals

Open hands

To embrace the

Sun

II

Dawn

Shifts for

Sun’s brightness

And jealously

Weeps

III

Fear

makes the

Cricket hide

In the dark to

Cry

IV

All

Living

Have their goals

For their steps, mine;

Peace

SANCTIFY THIS SANCTUARY (HAIKU)

SANCTUARY

In this sanctuary

I wish to last a century

Blowing hot goodness

In this sanctuary

I wish we form a country

To share right kindness

In this sanctuary

I’m looking for luxury

In love’s sanctity

Help me breath this out

To let all hearts heal of doubt

Hate will live without

GOOD ELECTION (CINQUAIN)

Laughing-earth

Laughter

as infectious

as ebola, must stand

and be made to rule our poor land

today

Because

teeth of decay

plague the mouth of the earth

sending loud painful sounds all over

the land

Laughter

which stands supreme

and can bring tongue, teeth and

gum together is needed now

just bear

Give it

that vote, and trust

in its voice and mandate

shedding  thoughts of its corruption

from mind

It will

be our safe car

to washing bay of filth

and help replace all rotten teeth

on earth
