IN YOUR HEARTBEATS

In your heartbeats are songs of peace
…some my gait uses to walk in happy harmony
To chart the course of fulfillment

In your heartbeats are the chorus of tenderness
…the verses of care
…the quotes of love
Which root me in you

III
In your heartbeats are our vows
Unspoken but written
Unoutdoored but known
Tried and true
In white and blue

IV
In your heartbeats is my trust
One you’ve built into an unbreakable tower
To capture and destroy my insecurities
With a palace built for the queen that I am

V
In your heartbeats are my resting places
My fortresses
My warmth
My blankets
And everything which helps to sustain my resolve
…my resolve to love you
…till Cupid brands for us a lane in its realm
To star our mark forever
