…when you failed to compliment me
…even when I tried so hard to look good for you
Another flew out on the wings of your cheating
Another flew out with your hurtful words
…cruel screams
…and embarrassing addresses
By the time I realized
I lived like a corpse of love
…completely unliving in your presence
I could not see my death manifesting through your actions
So I pulled the brakes on my heart
…which screeched and burned at the abrupt end
But cooled with time
