PLAY A MAN

Play a man
Play a man like a drunken expert plays a can
To disturb the muse of his fan
Till he claps for you like a well captured servant

II
Play a man
Play a man like a guitar
Strumming his ego till its strings tear
And hit its frame on a stone
Till its dead sounds hail you in worship

III
Play a man
Play a man like a sound drum
Till its surface tires of your skilled palms
And force it to tear
In a chaos which will kneel at your feet

IV
Play a man
Play a man till his seas dry out
Play a man
Play a man until his rivers recede
Play a man
Play a man like you’ve played nothing at all
Instead of acting doormat
…stepped on by brutes whose egos fear real players
The tears which rain from your eyes
Are naught but silly tears bought by you
Just wake and dust thyself
And play
…play a man
Play a man till satisfaction fills your cup
To raise cheers of your self-confidence

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
