TRUSTING A POOR MAN

A poor man is like a cat
…grandma said
Cuddly, affable, loving and obedient
Because money, like meat, is not in sight

A poor man can act a fool
…grandma said
Just to make you a financing tool
Let the world open up to him
And you’ll see the lion which hid in the cuddly cat

You can be chased
You can be broken
You can be ignored
You can be killed
When money acts wings to fly him to his ego
…grandma schooled

Only few are able to remember
To calm their urges and to stay
…in the abyss of gratefulness
Even so, some will push your buttons with their deeds
And love will turn into payment of debt

So be sure you know the slippery grounds
…on which you’re playing
…grandma said
Be very sure a fall won’t break you into pieces
For a man is no baby to bring up
To call you mama for life

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
