Sleep of ignorance
Have seen many wake up
…after blessed rains
Missing the favour of harvesting water
And saddled with mud from the ground of regrets
Please you, look and grab
…before it’s too late
II
You complain of the drain and strain
…of loneliness
When your neck is stiff from looking in just one direction
What if your fate sits behind you
…as you drill your front in flaky faith?
What if your need is right beside you
…as you chase a want in that front direction?
What if your perfection is the imperfection
…shadowing you by mattressing your falls
…and pushing you back up?
What if your peace
…is in that ease catching your chuckles with affable presence?
III
Eyes on mind are needed in all searches
Because sometimes those on heads look out for knights
…wielding shiny swords
When some knights are drowning
…and can be saved to save
When some knights can be found shot
…bleeding a lot
…and can be nursed to nurse
When some knights are simply waiting for a push
…from one in distress in order to act
Don’t you know some knights
…come in rags
…sores
…and seem like chores at a sight?
What if you look so high
…that you miss blessings traveling below?
IV
Be a being who breaks back
…in turning to look at all angles in your search
For many have found treasures
…in what looked like trashes
And many have found fires
…in neglected ashes
It might shock you if you look past the parcel of your need
…and choose the attending not-so-chooseable proximity has hidden from your feelings
The present within might bless you senseless
…transforming your complaints into praise for a lifetime
