KEEP YOUR WOW

Mouths have no brakes on any take
…tongues will stir your issues like fufu
…as teeth pound
Eyes will watch even in your sleep
…reporting your snores
…marking your turns
…noting your wakes
…jubilating in your nightmares
…and mostly frowning at your smiles
So keep your wow
…and let them keep asking how

II
Only those who study themselves to know their best
…succeed
Only those who wield their talents
…even through deserts of thorns
Are able to turn them machetes to clear their paths
Only those who don’t look back at the bites of tongue snakes
…and listen to voices of objectivity
…are able to climb success ladders
So keep your wow
…and keep them asking how

III
Let them study you as their course
Knowing there’s no certificate they’ll get
…but failure of their own unliving
As you work your best
That is how to keep your wow
…and keep them asking how
