CLOSER DEED

Worship the earth
…before worshipping the sky
For the earth gifts you a standing
…before head can raise to watch the sky

II
A light that shines outside its zone
And darkens its surroundings
…surely raises eyebrows
Arms whose gifts
…their legs know nothing about
Surely are questionable

III
What shame it will be
…if an outside sweeper’s house
…is seen languishing in dirt
Teeth of enemies would surely have a field day
