He keeps saying he loves her
When he knows so well he lies
But I let him
Because I believe if he thinks I believe that he loves her
He will feel good in his skin
II
He caught my bug
So bad I know he hurts
Like a cross, I let him carry me
While I reclaim my sanity
Who was he thinking he was talking to?
A teenager?
I don’t care if he loves her
All I need is he is clear
Because I can’t stand all the mess
From his scattered thoughts
And I want him to believe he is great
Because, then, I will be free of his chains
And could care less about his walking chariot
III
It breaks my heart a little though
How he knows very well he lies
But I can give him more space
To continiously tell me he loves her
Maybe, just maybe,
He can reclaim his lost candle
And will not hurt
Saying he loves her
And let me be
In my chosen path
So I can stay with the peace which sits
On top of my tired head
And shed the guilt I feel
For his pain gains
