LOVE IS NOT ENOUGH

sometimes-love-is-not-enough

Our hearts’ choices vary

Our eyes’ lenses target differently

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

You hate to share,

You think I’m not fair

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

You hate the colour blue

I hate it when you’re doing you

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

Your family hate my guts

My family hate your guts

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

You love to taste it all

While I love to have it all

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

Like an excited bird you wish to kiss and tell

While I love to kiss and wrap

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

I am a home fowl

You are a forest fowl who is always on the run

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

I need a generation

You think they’ll be a distraction

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

You love to hit

I love my body

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

You hate to sweat

I love challengers

How can the two of us marry?

Love alone is not enough

Love alone is not enough

The journey is tough

For us to get through the rough

Our commonness will have to be enough

So adieu!

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

This is so sad–and I confess I didn’t think before I married, and had to leave it 3 yrs later because the differences were far too great, and because no one should have to live in fear of the one they believe they love. You have a lovely blog–the header picture makes me smile, such wonderful happy faces which reflect joyous hearts! God bless you abundantly.

Oh, you’re a teacher–how wonderful!! I’m so laughing about them not being happy during exams–yes!

Here’s the song:

If the link fails for some reason, let me know–and I’ll put the music vid on my blog as an early Christmas present for everyone.

Oh, that’s a shame–as my experience of Him is that He shows Himself to all of us in such a personally individual manner and style. Glad you enjoyed the song–I think I will go ahead and post it, so thank you!!

Please post it. It is such a nice song. It is just that many of our mothers have their own ideas of what how Jesus is like, so they impose it on us, taking the imagination part from us.

Bravo! I just don’t want anyone to think I’m “pushy”–the blog thing can get kind of weird sometimes, if you know what I mean.

I wish more people would realize this before they enter into disastrous marriages that are toxic to the couple, everyone that loves them and to any children who have been produced through the union. Love is usually found to be lust and lust wanes very quickly. When lust fails there is nothing to support the relationship; hence, it quickly crumbles into ruin. All relationships are hard work but those of romantic interest are delicate but can be the strongest as well. Love is a word that is flung around by users who do not comprehend its meaning. Great work Cecilia.

You will be a very good marriage counsellor. This is the issue people fail to look into before getting married or having babies. They end up realising too late. Thank you for taking the time to comment.

Thank you for your kind words. Actually, I used to be a therapist for children broken by abuse, neglect or other traumas. Although, I also counseled adults who were victimized as children. Before that I was a high school teacher of history. There is much harm done in the name of love and I have seen some of the ugliest humans have to offer.
