A WOMAN LIKE ME

A woman like me
…unassuming
…portable looking
…fragile in framing
Might be malleable in your dream taming
But you can’t be further from wrong

II
I am the woman that I am
…built to last
…emotions like iron
…devotion like gold
…commotion mostly zero
One who reads your thoughts
…before they form words to model through tongue caves
…to bless or curse in sounds
I am the woman that I am
One who sees the lies behind composure
…and sees the need for my esteem erasure
Long before your greetings knock
…on the gates of my ears
I’m the woman that I am
Not one to need a thing which requires even my touch for your  pleasure
I’m definitely not the woman
Who will ever kowtow for a seed of comfort
I am not that woman
…anger strings on love threads
Maybe truth can build a trust
…but never would reach my guard
For there is a higher realm that walls my guard
I am the woman that I am

III
So throw your dog-like hunt down the rooms of your masturbation
Dream your dream where you hear me scream
Don’t ever try to turn that dream into a stream
…where I swim like your fish
…to be served on your plate of lust

IV
For I’ve walked through fires
I walked through storms
I’ve walked through deserts
I’ve cracked some stones
I’ve seen pain burning
I’ve touched live coal
My muse has been a prostitute
…but never has my being
So nothing can act hammer to break my resolve to be sold
And your distasteful advances only write
…your disgust
…in the mind of my muse

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
