THE VERY PLACE THAT GIVES YOU LIFE

You haunt me for fun
You kill me any chance you can
You cut trees which give me a home
And you burn them to deprive me of a home
Yet you’re no iron, you’re like a helpless hue on a desert
…a finless fish in the sea
…a hopeless hunter in the air
…a fallen flask on bare land

I see you lying helpless
Guess who tries to help? The one you deem helpless
I see you almost drowned by an angry river
Almost taken over by your dying shiver
This little me helps to drag your soul and spirit
As they all lie cold in your mortal body
…waiting to flee
But I know what will happen when I nurse you to be
My bones in between your teeth
…for your body’s revival

Is there a wonder waters run wild to flood your kind?
Is there a wonder some mountains heat up to kill you with lava?
Is there a wonder the sun has grown angry burning you skin down?
Is there a wonder winds mate seas to fight you through tsunamis?
Even livid whirlwinds did raze your homes down
…while frustrated winds destroyed your ships
But you will not learn
…a human will always be a human
…cunning
…ungrateful
…visionless
…wicked
…and thoughtless where nature rules

IV
But it is in my nature to be kind
That is why my kind helped baptize God’s blood in human kind
Calming dark can’t turn to swallow day just to blind for revenge
And so I will save you
Hoping a good air finds you
Hoping a good sun dries you
Hoping a struggling tree helps you breathe
So you will wake to help heal your environment
…the very place that gives you life
