IN YOUR OWN REFLECTION

Set your mirror to fit your frame
Sit, and set yourself to fit it same
Now look, do you like who you see?

II
Look right within into your heart
And survey the yearning hidden in that heart
Climb right up to thoughts in your head
Do you like what you see?

III
Now look through you to the outbursts of your past
Think through all to the casts of your hurts
Read through all the weapons in your blurts
Do you like what you see?

IV
Now look at your eyes and the face which hosts
Think through your body and its healthy coast
Do you feel love or feel hate
At the deeds which seed your life?
Tell me, do you like what you see

V
If yes then applaud you
If no then accord your heart a change affordable
And know you’re what you are to others
And what that does to you
You are what you expect of others
And what that means to you
You are what you do to others
And how that fits your temperament
None shares rotten eggs and fears flatulence
So look critically at you
And let me know
…if you like what you see, what you see in you

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

Beautiful!
I love it when attention is focused on selves,
Ensuring that we are what we expect from others
And are not what we condemn others for,
For I believe that when the GOOD self is bettererd,
That’s the birth of the death of the vices and ills of society
And the society shall float on the beauty of bliss and serenity.
The individual selves make the society.

The rhetorical questions at the end of each stanza, serving as epiphora/refrain are conspicuous, engaging the reader and throwing them into retrospective and introspective reflections just as the title indicates. This adds aesthetic fragrance to the piece.

Beautiful piece as always.
You never disappoint.
