WHERE AFGHANIS STAND

There is a weight in some adjustments
Which crushes the will to live
Because it sits on the flow of sane agreements
And forces broken hearts, to unpardonables, receive

Such weight can force hard tears
Such weight can breed much fears
For when night suddenly turns day
And birds are forced, to on their trapped trees stay
Death tiptoes to turn the steers

Hands unknown to domestic chores will crumble
Voices unknown to quietude will mumble
Bodies unknown to clothing heat will stumble
Minds unknown to unthinking will fumble
Where Afghanis stand

There will be traps in a fiery witch hunt
There will be voices to force many a taunt
There will be hatred to court a hot haunt
There will be death in high crown to flaunt
Where Afghanis stand

Suddenly, cowardly men will be empowered with guns
Suddenly, brave men will be forced to kowtow to guns
Suddenly, strong women will be stoned with excuses
Suddenly, the weak will rule with amuses
…amuses whose fun will only play in a chauvinistic land

Bombs are talking and stalking
Guns are hurting and killing
Fears act shepherds, leading lasses into rooms
…from classrooms
Legs of tables of independence are now broken
…to be the ground’s token
Where Afghanis stand

It is a story to be told with tears
And a story with characters deserving of jeers
It is a story where protagonists and their dears
Are played like strings on fears
Where Afghanis stand

Only Allah can stop the massacre
Only Allah can hush the hands doing the massacre
Eyes watch as tongues wag
But none fits the hard tag
…as saviour
When all the weak needs is a saviour
