AFFLICTIONS OF ADDICTION

A skin can get wound in a second
But it takes days
…if not weeks
…sometimes even months
…or years
To heal
So is the affliction of addiction

II
So do have time
…and create some space
Do take time to listen and pamper
Do create boundaries and help with distractions
An addicted soul needs all these and more
…to heal

III
Do not shame
And don’t try to tame
Do not sell rumours
And make them no humours
Do not intimidate and don’t try to frustrate
An addicted person is like an egg
…hanging in between life and death
All it takes is a little push
…to breathe life into them
…or drive them to their deaths

I’m awake at this thinking about how someone found a little truth about me and went all judgy about it. I don’t know how to tag the right people to see this.
