MARITAL SHOTGUN

Aku Alolo is to be pitied
As much as she thought her friends envied
…her earlier in her aware
Because now she is being played like ɔware
To a point where she has stopped going to asɔre

II
She thought Kwaku Aponkye a gifted king
Now she is questioning whether he is a human being
She thought Kwaku Aponkye great
Now she is seeing him as the destroyer of her fate
She thought Kwaku Aponkye a man of integrity
Now she sees herself in a tunnel of pity
The man is trouble in a chaotic frame
Making her feel so so lame

III
He does it all to her
Cheating and insulting and shaming and hurting
He does it all to her
Name-calling others using her as a bait
He does it all to her
Flushing her self worth down emotional gutters
He does it all to her
Reducing her to unrecyclable litters

IV
Kwaku can go and bath others insults
Knowing they will rather target her with his insults
Kwaku’s mouth is like, sɛbi o, the area agyanan
One can smell its ɛfo from the far off nkwantanan
Kwaku’s voice is as loud as gramofon apaawa
But he is like an ordinary aprawa
All he does is wrap himself around chasers
…who always turn his rightful abusers

V
Kwaku Aponkye is a dog
He barks and barks and barks and barks
Even as his teeth were long won
By one his words did con
Kwaku Aponkye is a cat
Who only loves to fight lions without guts
Kwaku Aponkye is a worm
Easy to kill but disgusting to be touched
His life has many buts
But he goes on in his horrid attitude unfazed

V
Aku now feels like a lioness trapped by paws of a toothless cat
I wonder why she acts the spectacle
When many shoot her in battle of his ridicule
I so wish she gets the guts to leave
…in order to really live
In this here world where peace of mind is the source of happiness
And self confidence is the fuel of life

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
