NAKED

I wear singlets of fear
Added beneath are dreads of failure and dishonour
With undies of disappointments
All beneath clothes of strength
With a tinge of self esteem as my sweater
And walk about as the pillar which has it all together
And so many a being shiver

II
But the moment your eyes
…like a search light
Set on me
I felt naked
For you saw right through me
And with no words, tore my burdens off
…to set me on the path of freedom

III
That you saw my flaws and claws
And still hugged me even as you bled
Tells tales of this warrior reaching home
…the home that is you

IV
Nothing and no one will change this heart
Because you’ve imprinted on it
Nothing and no one can change this heart
For you warmed it in my freezing cold
And cooled it in my heated fold
It takes a man to man this soul
And you’ve passed all the tests

V
Your patience
Your tenderness
Your love for me as me
Your desire to see me wearing happiness
Your hugs and kisses and loving and strides
Make you the man none can dethrone
On the pedestal meant for only you

VI
So I put on you my adoration
And hang my shoes at your inn
I sit on the queenly stool you’ve self-carved
And hope to grow old with you
Loyalty is a thing I hold onto
So change will never dare to battle my front
If you hold onto me like you’re doing
On this exciting ride we’re having
…to our forever

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
