THE VANITY OF POWER

Once upon a time
In a jungle filled with crime
Agya Ananse decided to play a prank on others
By promising and eventually seriously pledging to fly in feathers
…in the coming year

II
He said so with no fear
And taunted others who had no money
Saying he was boss because money was sweeter than honey
And had many birds killed for their feathers
Thinking he’d be able to use them to fly all weathers
Until he tried to hunt eagles

III
His failure and misfortunes turned jungle giggles
As eagles took all he had
Forcing fear down his spine
For he had signed a bond so bad
That death did dare him to dine
…should he fail

IV
With pressure down his tail
He started begging other birds to shed their feathers
But none will listen let alone give
So he ended up dining with death with his blood as wine
Making all see the vanity of power
The lesson still stands as a tower
Teaching all to their egos and pride lower

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
