RULING AND CITIZENING

It’s been a while you and I held power
Through our forebears
Living free and ruled
Ruling and citizening
What have we done with our power?

Responsibilities seem so pale
Sick from the abuse of holders here
Rulers use its power to Lord!
Citizens use its power as a tool of indiscipline
And so we live in the chaos of ridicules
Not moving forward
…hating to go backwards
But still stuck in the horrors of yesteryears

With caged minds and shameful hearts
We still prefer the touch of others
…rather than ours
We kill our fowls
…just to buy eggs from the homes of others
We slaughter our cows
…just to buy milk from others
We starve our land
…just to bank our stomachs on other lands
What are your inputs and output as a Citizen?
What are your inputs and output as a sovereign?

Little wins birth big breakthroughs
Clearing a gutter might stop a dreadful flooding
Teaching with love, might make a potential deviant a great leader
Saving lives might push a heart to give a nation more
Soldiering to protect might make hearts secure to rule
Pastoring in uprightness might serve great leaders on national plates
Using technology for good, surely will build progress
Just as cleaners win clean cities for nations
Your good is what citizening needs

What is your giving as a citizen?
What is your mark as a sovereign?
The power of a Republic cries in pockets of hearts
Do unzip them
…serve their needs
…and shine our nation
