OUR NATIONAL PRAYER

As the sky looks down on earth
And the earth looks up on its face
So do we kneel in earnest
…always reciting our national prayer

II
“Our Father who art in heaven
Hell is another name for poverty
Poverty cower kings to crumble kingdoms because of need
So do, by all means, me feed
Let me climb success’ ladder
Even if it is on the neck of a failed nation
Let my family or I get high positions
So we can,
…like arrangers of fate,
…fix our family members somewhere be they skilled or not
Let us never be caught in our crimes
And let the law be the sore we slap on others to break their core

III
I will eliminate gooditudinals who try to mess me up
…so help me God!
I will cut off tongues which feel truth feeds a nation
…so help me God!
I will weed out weak attitudes posing as great characters
…so help me God!
Corruption is the option which carries my crown, I will so uphold its stool
…so help me God!

IV
I will fight my country men with their tribes
…so help me God!
I will destabilize great discussions for developmental purposes
…so help me God!
I will only employ those who can grease my palms and cheaply sell my land
…so help me God!
My mercies are blessings for the cruel and violent
…so help me God!

V
The vulnerable needs to be used as occasional fowls
…so help me God!
Poor people need to be the doormats of my great hall
…so help me God!
I need to have power which strangles the talented
…so help me God!
I need me up, up and up with all others, down and down
…forevermore”

VI
It is the clouds which gather that rain
So the “God” helps many a corrupt to shut their rot
And pins pains on the poor to be poorer
…until they reach their poorest
As the wealthy few chase after their souls
If the poor is the nation
And the wealthy are its leaders
Where are we headed on the path of growth?

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

Sorry to hear that. It cuts across the whole world. I guess it’s better here in Ghana because there is fair normalcy. I hope people comply with the protocol so we don’t have to shutdown. Eventually the world will heal John. Let’s keep on keeping on.
