AS A HERO GOES HOME – For Bill Marshall

As a hero goes home
…through a beautiful journey in his most fertile state than loam
Let not your hearts, in despair, roam

Ib
There are no tears nor fears
…needed to accompany one whose life deserves cheers
In this here world and beyond
When his accomplishments are now part of nature’s bond
Bill was one such person

II
He lived like an eagle
…in strength of work and dedication
He lived true like a dove in devotion
…making sure no regrets tried a wriggle
He lived his life knowing its transiency
And pushed himself to his utmost efficiency
So the cheers which send him off will be below what greets his person
…beyond

III
If there be sadness remaining
Let’s turn it into modeling his values
If there be hurts remaining
Let’s melt it into developmental tissues
If there be hearts which feel the impact of his journey to the third end
Let them redirect them to his morals defend

IV
For he lived, loved and cared
He laughed, cried and shared
He worked, climbed success undeterred
He thought, taught, wrote and promoted
…many
And knew when to be funny

V
Though Bill lies still
Nothing stops his tutoring quill
So let the Damirifa dues turn into his resting in power!
Let the Da Yie turn into Happy goodbyes in many a blessed shower
For wordsters of his kind know their paths beyond
So continue works which struck his fond

VI
For he deserves this rest
…as he has finished his quest!
He deserves this celebration
…as his soul is in jubilation!
He deserves this love
…even from up above
Let fires of passions add onto hope and well wishes
To send a hero to a safe place his soul cherishes
To help him enjoy the felicitations our God lavishes
…on his Homegoing
For he lived to his fullest
…and deserves for us to be in our loving coolest
As the hero that he is goes home

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
