DEAR OLDY ME

If you’re reading this
With spectacles struggling to fit
And a mind struggling to grab a bliss
…of concentration
Know there was a time you were strong
And did to many hearts belong
You did get few decisions wrong
But you sure did feel among

II
If you can walk not without help
Know you did run, jump, hop
And scaled many a wall like a strong cop
You did many weak ones help
So be grateful and accept help
…when offered

III
If you are bedridden
Don’t think you’re a thing life has forsaken
…and love has forbidden
You sure have lived fit
…and have helped yourself to be a blessing
…to many
So accept nature’s weakness
…and journey on as a fortress

IV
Be not envious of the strong
For they might not reach where you now belong
Don’t argue when you think they’re wrong
Reserve your strength for love
For life will teach them the right from wrong

V
You’ve lived through some of the toughest situations
And deserve felicitations every day of your life
So rock happiness and wear peace
Until God calls on you to go blend with the earth
…ending your script for a lifetime

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
