COBRA AND THE CAT

Once upon a time
Cobra, whose leg was as long as its body
…was the king of the jungle
It traveled in between human kingdom and the jungle
And was accorded all the respect there was
Until it set eyes on cat
…being petted and pampered

II
Cobra took in the sight
…and constantly called cat weak
Always taunting and hating on it
This angered cat but it took it in its usual fashion
…in order to avoid a scandal in front of its family
But cobra will not give up
…always calling cat “Weak and Tamed Domesticarian”
Generating laughter from insensitive onlookers

III
One day
Cat went to the field to avoid cobra
…on one of the latter’s visits
When cobra learnt that its sport
…had gone to the field
It sneakily asked to be given some alone time
It walked in its regal shoes
…and headed to the field
Cobra thought it was the smartest animal on earth
But cat had spotted it way before it reached the field
And was waiting for what it will do

IV
Cobra started taunting cat
…calling it all sorts of names
Cat timed Cobra, pounced on it
And tore the legs of cobra with its shoes
…before cobra could sense what was happening
Bleeding and filled with shock
Cobra crawled on its stomach
…and left the field for the jungle
…never to ever make a grand walk into human kingdom
Its shoes were the only things seen
By its hosts and entourage
As they headed back to the jungle
“You’re king in your realm
And I’m king of myself
Being loved up does not make me weak
It only means I have found a home I want to keep”
These were the only words cat had said to cobra
…after it delegged it”
Cat went home like the angel it was perceived
Never to fit into the shoes of a suspect
…which attacked and cut king cobra to a humble size

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
