Tension can be as sharp as a sword
Cutting deep into emotions
…suspending heart on a tip of a cliff
…overlooking dreadful monsters ready to consume
Tension drills the hardest

Tension can kill cowards more times
…than can be counted
…with fear and anxieties
Whispering demonic thoughts
…promising to squash shame
…if smartly orchestrated
Tension drills the hardest

Tension can stop time
And all body parts
…leaving the heart to walk through a desert of uncertainties
With no water of hope
…talk less food of sustainance
So can murder a body without its knowledge
Oh tension drills the hardest

Tension is no respecter of persons
It can out an honourable on dishonourable fields
Embarrass an expert on expertise grounds
Root an athlete in his tracks
…confiscating locomotion to dangle ridicule
…to tickle foes
Yes, tension drills the hardest

If you’re fire
…tension can come as ice
…to sit on your flames in broad daylight
If you’re water
…tension can come as fire
…to boil you till you evaporate
If you’re air
…tension can use dust to arrest your form
…making eyes see your routes and dances
I tell you
…tension drills the hardest

So stay not in its grips for long
Lest it owns your breath and write you off
…as a loser
Who gifted his life for naught
How do you stay off it, you ask?
…by cleaning your conscience each day
…with a broom of justice
And removing dubious cobwebs from corners of your heart
To stop odd tension in its track
Because trust me
…you don’t want to be in its grips
It drills the hardest –

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
