THE CHICKEN BARBER AND THE TURKEN

Once upon a time
A full feathered star cock decided to have a neck shave
Some of its contemporaries thought it stupid
Others thought it fashionable
It did have the neck shave
…using the sharpest scissors at the Chicken Barber’s Shop
After that
…shaving necks became fashion in Chicken Land

II
Many talked about the neck shaved chickens
Some said they looked better
…with their necks shaved
Others said they looked better
…when their shaved necks begin to grow fresh feathers
Others said it was an abomination
…for a full feathered chicken to shave its neck
Others said it was a ridiculous insult to turkens
And others claimed turkens could try shaving their bald necks
…as it might help them grow their neck feathers
Through it all
One of the daring turkens listened

III
It boldly went to the Chicken Barber
And asked for a neck shave
Its bold request drew ridicule from most onlookers
Who called on others far and near
…to come witness
The Chicken Barber
…happy to make an easy maize pesewa
Sharpened its scissors
…and began to attempt a shave
Due to some commotion from speculators
The Chicken Barber looked out while on its job
Only to hear loud crows from onlookers

IV
It looked back at its work
And realized the Turken had been decapitated
The most shocking thing remains
…the fact that only few beaks blamed the Chicken Barber
All others blamed the Turken
Who took its vulnerable bald neck to the barber
…to tempt its scissors
That ended the tale
…of the Chicken Barber and the Turken

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
