THE SKILLS OF LUCK

There are people who can blow air into gossip
And turn them into a balloon fish
To poison a community’s mind against you

To suit your every bone
Horror as your headgear
Cunning as your clothes
Selfishness as your shoes
Uncouth as your underwear
Wickedness as your wrist watch
And danger as your draft

But there are still those who can polish you to suit a masses
And make you the dream of the ordinary
Shocking you with many a lovers unthought of
Such is the world we live
We each have our dangers whose anger can buy strangers
…to hate us
And have gifts whose dedication can make us protagonists
Of a life we dream of
Luck is a skill in it all
