I’ve waited on you for a decade
Hoping for stability
Praying for the station in your love nation
But you keep switching off and on
Making me stuck in your mud
…and never moving on
I need you to please stop now
…this play of here and there
II
Please don’t act like waves
…courting the shores
“I’m here
I’m receding
I’m here
I’m receding”
It gets tiresome
Because I’m not an immortal shore
…which can hope for overflowing waters
To live within the mansion of the sea
…some day
III
I am a mere mortal
My body rotting by seconds
My time draining my breaths
My memories
…all I have to cling on even in death
So why hang me up like washed rags
…only to cut me lose as footmat?
IV
I know I suffer from the downside of loyalty
Some will call it ” foolish obsession”
Some call it “Can’t let go”
But I call it love
Trusting you to stamp a permanent yes
…or no
But years are making the wait weary
And fears are making anxieties
…realities
V
So leave or stay
This year is wheeling me your half
…or your past
Onto another year
And my resolve stands in determination
In my action station

Intriguing piece mirroring the realities that are not uncommon. Kudos, Mum Cee!
