Contagious
Whatever we wear on our faces
Are contagious
Clothes of smiles
Are contagious,
Clothes of frowns
Are contagious
And if we wear nothing
It is contagious
But makes many curious
So let’s wear the best
To hide the rest
In our head nests
We might be blessing an angel
And like a ball
Once it hits the wall
It will bounce back to us

I remember as an art student taking a friend to the school, and telling her so that she would fit in ‘wear black and don’t smile.’ I look back on that and laugh. People do so many things to get through the stress and sadness of this world. What’s wrong with turning the corners up on your lips every now and then to muster up the courage. I really enjoyed your poem 🙂
