When the trees in love sway,
The dogs in love lay,
The horses cheer in a sleigh,
And the chickens with their chicks stray,
You are all that fills me and so I pray
That I’ll meet your stay.
When you made me choose between you, the station
The children or the nation
A temporal aberration made me choose a probable citation
One against four, if you count our mansion
I could not give a moving oration
To arrest your thoughts into my ambition
Now everything reminds me of you
Even doves here move in two
I shut my eyes to the sky and still see blue
What more can a hungry romantic do?
Even the fireflies like angry soldiers boo
And the swaying leaves promise to sue
Now I know not if I have to call God
Or get myself a palm wine of gourd
To get your heart to sign a peace accord
As you name a price that I can afford
Then I’ll make you the Lordina of my Lord
Staying by our love’s gate with a sharp sword
