THIS RAPE CULTURE

This rape culture that many consider in blame
Forcing victims to live in shame
Making their associates look so lame
Is a monstrous way to tame
…the innocence, turning them into game

2.
This habit of asking victims questions
Walking these monsters like great warriors into fame
Making them feel like prize winners without questions
…turn all of us into many a despicable shame
Why ask food not meant for you
…why it tempted to be eaten?
Why ask bodies not meant for you
…why it dressed to be tempting?
Why ask the hurt to justify a forced sin?
Are our minds like corrupted metals in filthy bins?
Are women bottled tins
…to be taken as eyes see a-tempting?

3.
It is you who make victims feel beaten
…drumming taunts into their fearing chicken
It is you who make victims’ souls feel eaten
…forcing blames into their realities driven
It is you who rain shame on blame
Forcing hurting souls to feel like game
Pushing some off the cliff of life
…into death

4.
“What did she go there to do?”
Your logic, movement is a crime
“Why was she there at all?”
Your logic, humanity is a crime
“Why was she wearing what she was wearing?”
Your logic, men have no brains to know basic human dignity
“So she destroyed a man with her witchcraft?”
Your logic, the traumatically destroyed must feel like a destroyer
When did the robbed become the robber?
This is a bell calling your senses!
Let’s all think in the sober

5.
Blame and shame the right
Call and name and smite, the right
Push all the fright on the right
The one forced, bruised, hurt, shamed
…traumatized is not one to face your judgements
Judgements are for those with sins
And your directless compasses
…should be fixed to order
You total sinners playing for teams of rape
…in this unfair here pleasure tournaments
…in which physical strength stands a-sinning

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)

Unfortunately, neither imprisonment nor chemical castration can eradicate this psychological illness because rape is rarely about sexual attraction or desire, but rather about power, ego, personal inadequacy, misogyny, and self-hatred.
