After the public sympathy
Comes the forgetfulness leading to apathy
But those who’ve lost partners
…fathers
…brothers
…lovers
…family members
…sons
Will carry the burden of remembrance
So let the nation give them a chance
II
For they have lost providers
They have lost guardians
They have lost protectors
They have lost advisors
They have lost partners
They have lost the umbrellas under which they slept
That kind of loss can’t ever be swept
…under carpets even the nation has kept
So give them a chance
III
Their questions they have for only their dead
Can’t ever be fed
The needs they need the fallen to satisfy
Can’t ever be satisfied
Their comfort zones have been vandalized
They will forever live the grief that we feel in brief
So give them the chance
IV
You have to know that pain
Of your loved one being snatched by death
In a moment all thought was gain
At a height one felt a security so insane
To know the type of grief they bear
So give them the chance
To grieve
To cry
To wear faces they deem fit
To pour out their hearts in words
To throw tantrums if they feel like it
For this day is the public grief day
But everyday will be their grieving day
To their forevers
