THE GENDER FEUD

A.
Ama says a man has no right
…to a woman’s body let alone tell her how many kids to have
He certainly has no right
Since a woman’s body is hers to love
This caused a huge fight

B.
Kwaku says a man must have a say
And a woman must surely obey
In giving birth to children a man wants to have
Because he forms the headship of the family
He says everything should not center around women
As the pillars of a family is the shoulders and arms of men

C.
Ama says a man must learn how to cook
Just as Kwagyiri Aggrey says a woman must know some book
So he can cook good food
For a woman to enjoy so as not to act like a mafia in the hood
Always asking “where is my food?”

D.
Kwaku says then women must prepare to pay
For half of the things men pay
And women who think their bodies are theirs in rights
Must be ready for fornication fights
Because a man who needs many kids will have those willing to overlook rights
And will care not for the screams of those with rights
And so the argument continued

E.
I have no patience for domestic squabbles
Why grown men and women go through troubles
…of incompatible relationships
Sinks my many thinking ships
Why can’t conversations circle around compatibility
Before love embarks on togetherness and stability?
Why must gbegbegbe go with gbagbagba
When compounds knew no adjagboragba
…before two hearts decided to love?
I see these arguments walking out of mouths of children
Acting adults while wearing wigs of stupidity
Why can’t same minds meet
When backgrounds of upbringing is not easy to beat?
You can drag down drastic demons till you drown
Being with opposing thinkers will soil your crown
For incompatible lovers are like two jealous beasts
Beasts who act like owners of stolen feasts
Know this and know peace
So these horrid conversations can cease

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
