NARCIBANDS

He said I am not opening a mini store
To be given a thousand and four
…hundred a month
When I am also paid every month

II
He said I should live by my salary
So my husband can build with his salary
To give me and mine a place to live
While emphasising his freedom to leave

III
He said a man needs money for his side chick
And a wife needs to let in the side chick
Whiles using her money for domestics
For a husband must get money to spend on his side chick’s cosmetics

IV
He said a woman needs to always comply
Never try to put her husband in a state where he must silly answers reply
And to treat myself of  infections
While quietly working for his loving affections

V
I looked at the subman and chuckled
Remembering my grandma’s tale of a man who was cuckold
And brought down onto his knees from his high horses
By a woman he thought would abide by his rude causes

VI
I remember my grandma’s advice of staying off akwaajadu’s
Who a woman can hardly introduce even to the known family of the Adu’s
As their pomposities end up as calamities
And their horrors of mistreatments go far into  extremities

VII
And again I chuckled at the half man with muscles
Who wishes a woman will stay with his many poor hustles
And thanked Odomankomah I never met his kind
And that I would never ever have to pay him mind

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
