THE THOUGHTLESS GOAT

Once upon a time in Owurupon
There lived a vast and beautiful Nsupon
Who loved all who toured her
And protected those who respected her
Her caretaker, Nightingale, tutored all on not stepping on her bad side
But Goat, who wanted to be the caretaker failed to abide

Goat waited to contest the yearly election
And lost due to lack of direction
He haboured bitterness and waited to bite
When he got the post, he raked in Nightingale’s enemy; Crocodile
And made him his missile
On Nsupon, they planned a revenge unfair
To sink the former caretaker with his people
Who were in the same boat with he and his people

So it happened that Crocodile helped him make a hole
In the ship and fed all into Nsupon’s mouth whole
Only for Crocodile to swim ashore
Nightingale and his people also flew ashore
Leaving Goat and his people to drown
Guess who died with a frown?
And so it dawned
That the one who tried to kill unjustly ended up pawned
…by death on Nsupon
