LIKE MY FATHER?

My father is the man who bids me farewell
…thinking I’m headed to choir practice
As I go cuddling with a son from a man he might never know
Only to come back to his full embrace

II
My father is the man who will love me
Even when I pick seed from sources I know not
Will help look after me even when the tree refuses to accept its fruit
And love my plant like his to the end

III
My father is the one who can cook and sweep my room
…when I’m occupied
Only for me to come back to eat
As he listens to my hurdles and troubles
Without as much as a reprimand

IV
I will never accept any sexual advances from my father
Talk less bear his children
An abomination is an abomination
…and none of us want to even consider that possibility
…talk less its burdens

V
Yes, we talk and laugh
Gossip and care for eachother
But never in my life will I treat my man like my father
If he wants a daughter
He should look carefully at fatherly duties
And let us sign on that understanding
He who craves for bones risks being choked one day
A saying which elders carved in gold

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
