FANATICS

He walked like a giant with a presence
He looked like a perfectly made cartoon with an aura
He gave great vibes and had all heads turn
…at his sight

II
He wore black jeans and a hoodie
Stopping all breaths for seconds
Until the pursuers surrounded him
He looked around, saw the sticks, machetes and dangerous faces
…and raised his hands
They went close and accused him
He tried to use his raised hand and the assault began
Few slaps later, he still could not utter a word
So they kicked and hit him
Hurled abuse at him and stoned
Used some machetes to butcher his hands
Until one of his abusers took his hoodie off
Another man in the audience spotted him
…run to him screaming
“What did this innocent man do to you?”
They said he had insulted their Messiah
Hurled obscenities on their faith
They added he had threatened to rape their women
And had run off as they chased
But the man said something that made all of them fearful
“But this man has never uttered a word in his life
He is the first son of our powerful seer
Whose speech was taken due to his father’s refusal to serve the gods before his initiation”
It was then that they all knelt like doomed sheep
…awaiting their slaughter
For they knew running was pointless
As the very clear sky suddenly turned dark above
Raining stones on them as their first punishment from a god who could fight for himself and his own

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
