YOURS TO HOLD

If a water lily promises to let you drown
Don’t think it is just bragging to have you frown
For it knows all the deep parts of river towns
And can drown to crown itself boss of your deadly frown

II
If a mosquito promises to give you malaria
You don’t go thinking it has only a small area
It can live every space to taint your blood
And make shivers take over your blood

III
No mouse takes threats of a cat lightly
For the former knows the latter as its core enemy
And knows its fear of it must be highest
In order to live long

IV
So know your cat if you’re a mouse
Your protection is yours to work on
No one can hold that position in your stead
…in this stead where self survival drives our purpose
…before the safety of others
