IN YOUR DIRTY WATER

I have been washed through challenges
And been rinsed through blessings
Which now set me on this stage you see
So dip me not in your dirty water

II
I’ve gone through enough stains
And have taken the pains to battle the stains
I’ve seen enough oil and have felt the heat of the sun
…in order to their colours ban
So dip me not in your dirty water

III
You can do you and let me be
You can act you and let me see
But touch not the name I’ve built with pain
With thoughts of pushing it to disdain
To force my dignity into a strain
Oh you can do all you want
But dip me not in your dirty water

IV
For your life is yours as mine is mine
For as you and your struggling thoughts wine
I and my working thoughts dine
To see what can come through our feast
Something to impact at least
So please and please, dip me not in your dirty water
In hope of a cruel slaughter

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
