DRAG QUEENS AND KINGS

Learning is like a wheel
Which goes round and round and round and round
…and stops
…resets
And goes round and round and round and round
In an order unending

That is why hearts can change to change a head
That’s why heads can change to change minds
That’s why minds can change to change proclamations
That’s why present proclamations must define
…and not the past

For I can think an idea unworthy
…a person unsuitable
…a thing unimportant
…an attitude abhorable
…a character detestable
Today
Only for an unlearning to force a relearning
…to open my mind and eyes
…to see the best which ignorance hid from me
So let no judgement machetes
…strike a past with a different present
For fallibility firms the fibres of humans

So judge me by my thoughts today
Not by my yesterdays’
There is a reason life has time
…and time stands not still
And that reason is perpetual change
Only an unthinking knows not that
