THE HARVEST

The tree of hard work grows in difficult soil
Pushing hearts and minds to toil
Making tired blood boil
Forcing undetermined souls to recoil
But tire not from the toil

II
For in the sweat of tiredness
Are the bountiful harvest of happiness
The congratulatory harvest of gratefulness
The loving harvest of calmness
And the painful death of restlessness
When age turns secateur to harvest your strength in sureness

III
Sweat in youth is better than cries in old age
Tiredness in youth is an aging restful advantage
Burning sleep in youth is the greatest recommendation of many a sage
Being a bull in youth, kills off paupering rage
…when you climb atop years in age

IV
So work for the harvest
Do in your emotions, strength and life invest
For when you work your hardest
And break through hurdles in their harshest
You’ll conquer difficulties and be rewarded in your darkest
To push your aging into suns in the brightest
Helping you live a life so honest
So you can live free in your utmost coolest
Just spend your strength at your fittest
To avoid losing it to age
…pushing you low under pits of needs, at your weakest
That will be the harshest
…harvest on your life’s stage

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
