In this web of varied destructions
Where death comes from internal and external instructions
And chaos constitutes the media’s attractions
As blames and counterblames act hate bricks in many Afri-taunt constructions
I look back at the Gods on duty
…through all the nights of robbery
…reign and rule of colonialism
And boldly state their blame

The Gods are to blame
For not sending bees to help the mosquitoes
…fight the intruders
They sure are to blame
For not sending porcupines to help tsetseflies
…fight the rude overtakers!
I so blame the Gods
For not sending ticks, lies and bedbugs
…to help our warriors fight off the thieves!
I so so blame the Gods
For not turning lions and lionesses
…when the battle got fierce
To help fight of the usurpers
How could they stand to watch boats
…sitting on sacred seas and holy rivers
To graze their lands into destruction?
Where were the fierce Crocodiles protecting Navrongo?
And where were the African sharks
…they fed in our seas?

Now hens fight guinea fowls
Forgetting they’re all birds
Ducks fight swans
Forgetting they all love the same water
See how a heart of a continent shatters into uncountable parts
Murdering nations which are her body parts?
Were the Gods here only to feed on innocent fowls,
…alluring goats
…meaty cows
…explorative antelopes
…meek sheep among others?
Definitely the Gods are to blame
They are to blame for our shame
And should bow as we bow!

So for every mineral and oil
…squeezed out of our land
The Gods are to blame!
For every hatred and curses
…heaped on a Black body
The Gods are to blame!
For every self hate and Black on Black hatred
The Gods are to blame!
Our reversing development
…on roads of massive looting
The Gods are to blame!
For all the brain drain
…and alienation on other lands
The Gods are to blame!
They’re to blame for religions of others directing our submission
…to the rule of abnormalities
Our Gods are surely to blame
They are to blame for the many treaties
…which treated our peace into conflicts
And branded our royals
…slaves

V
The Gods are to blame
They are to blame that we turned game
And should be haunted and hunted
…as we were
They are to blame for our non-thinking
…and should be ridiculed as we are
Their silence
…added to their power divisions
…divided us like chickens
If we’re being munched as such
They should be chewed
…so chewed by their creator
To make this situation fair
VI
After the blame
We need huge slaps to wake from the madness
That everything ours is inferior
…whiles everything imported is superior!
We need to wake up from the craze
…selling our products cheaply
…only to buy their finished products at lion prices
We need to wake up to the preposterousness of not doing business
…among ourselves
And like a spider
Weave a continent of interdependence
To grow our power to be noted and feared
Among those holding scissors of separation
…aiming to shred our clothes of together
…in order to feed on our bodies like fleas
