RELATIONAL CONTROVERSIES

Just as we love to neglect the earth due to its tenderness and care
And praise the sky due to how far it is
Human relationships thrive on same controversy
The closer we are to another
The more we think them sinners
…enemies
…or least treat them with indifference

That’s why many suffer to build others in vain
That’s why many stay far
…and strengthen their love in hearts
That’s why friends who meet in decades
…stay fresh and connected

III
Because the more we stay together
The probability of showing our true fallible selves is higher
And the more we see the faults in ourselves
The faster care drops in our hearts
Sinking love
And making us want to part
That is one daunting secret
…of many a failed relationships
