He is heckled as a hoax
…who hoots at his own by hiding it
…playing down on it
…dismissing it
…denying it
While hailing cultures whose existence nullifies his
So change these damn curricula
II
Many a wise linguists have walked our land
But we choose Aristotle
…and value Shakespeare
We use others as our courses
…and spice it up with few of ours
So how will others learn about us?
How will others learn from us?
How will others know of our geniuses?
How will others tell our stories just as they are?
How will they
When American courses are our maps
English literature is our compass
Chinese language is our craving
And our knowledge is the unseen parcelled in our hidden hearts?
It’s time to change those damn courses!
III
Many a foreigners have fled our schools
After tasting and knowing we teach caricatures of their originals
Haven’t many pens told tales of blessed minds we have here?
Haven’t many great stories been written with our lives?
Haven’t many hearts formulated world class knowledge
…needing stages to uplift us?
So why get stuck with colonial courses
…digging us into loses
…and making non -deservers our bosses?
Just change those damn courses!
IV
Until the change
The clear vision will not be realized
Unless we change
Our wavering confidence will not be stable
Until we change
We will live like apparitions of the ghosts of our yesteryears
Wailing the woes of our ancestors
…as our time ticks without tocks
Wasting our lives by unliving our lives
So change!
Please change!
Do change those damn courses!
Replacing them with our originals
We deserve to read us before reading others in a fairness real and thorough
What is knowing others
…without knowing us?

A tapestry of facts beautiful woven!
Our measurements must be our measure!
“We refuse the cappings of those who measure us merely by the height we have attained and not the depths from which we have arisen”~Kwame Nkrumah.
Long overdue for the damn curricula to be EXPUNGED.

Wooooww!!
This is, undoubtedly, another invaluable craft of your quill. The interspersing of rhetorical questions in the piece does not only paint clearly the reality of our society but also magnifies the degree of blindness we have given to ourselves. The employment of epiphora accentuates the dire need to indeed change those damn curricula.
Nice piece, Mum C. More power to your elbow.
