THE TABLE OF DUTY

They called
They called for all to come and dine
…at the table of duty

II
They did call
They did call for all to represent
…at that duty table
Only few showed

III
Funny,
Those whose shadows were never seen
Were those whose mouths were heard
…and seen after
At the table of criticism

IV
That is another side of humans
Those who never show
…are those who always punch accusations
…on those who try

IVb
The story of snails
Hiding from carriage of trees
To build a house in the jungle
…for safety in windy times
And resurfacing after tortoises had finished that duty
Only to run their mouths
That too many logs had been carried
And were blocking the paths to the stream
Making it difficult for them to make their ways through
…comes to mind

V
Until attitudes change from doing
…to hiding
And appearing to criticize
The growth which we all await
…will be a fantasy
Until we all refrain from draining our best
…in the face of our undoing
The development which we all wish for
…will be a fallacy
Because right thoughts do to right flawed ones
…on duty grounds
They don’t hide
…watch till a finish
Appear
…only to put out flames of the trying
That is like wind
…putting out flames lit by lightning
To point out paths for poor travelers
In a dangerous desert

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
