DADDIES WITHOUT SUGAR

Serwaa says she shines and scouts
…sells sexy and smiles
…sasses and smarts
But never finds the sugar in her daddies

II
She says of Sandra
“She looks like a stick from a silhouette model book
Without a pleasant face
And is as straight and uninteresting as a stick from Praso
And with teeth like those of a-never-brushed hyena
I wonder the charm she uses to get swarmed by money armed daddies
Could she be using juju?”

III
Then there is Adwoa Birago
“One who has naught but a good melanin skin
Her oversized mouth on her complaining face
Her oversized boobs on her weary chest
Her rabbit ears always fought by her cheek markings
And those dots for eyes
Make her look like a lost and assaulted ghost
But even she gets to find big wallets and uses them as mallet to chase people like me with taunts
Serwaa puffs and asks why she never finds the sugar in her daddies

IV
She stands on heels which always threaten her ankles
She wears tight clothes which always punch her intestines
She wears big earrings which always naughtily swing her ears
…threatening a tear she fears
She wears beautiful make up
…which others compliment
She fixes awesome claws which many find fierce
She screams “Look at me!”
And wonders why the sugar in her daddies never find her

V
She met one fish who wanted her
…to feed him comfortable waters
She met one lion who wanted her to build him a jungle
She met one eagle who wanted her to charm him a sky
Forget about the cocks who think they rock with their kokrokokooo clocks
And the ducks who fuck to quack and quack and quack till even lizards’ nods turn praises in their eyes
She’s seen all and can call them daddies
…if only they had some sugar
But they’re all as sour as fermented bile

VI
So she says she is hanging her scouting boots
And looking into seamstressing
She can’t kill her youth only to wake in an old age of disappointments
And I agree
I whole heartedly agree
Because I’ve seen no sugar in a daddy
…my whole life
But have seen hardwork buying sugar for any and every body
…who clings

Just a simple Ghanaian trying to find the best in our society. I may be fun, I may be interesting, I may be funny, I may even be foolish or intelligent, but it is all based on the mood in which you find yourself. I believe our minds make us who we are. Know that, pain, no matter its 'unbearability', is transient. Unburden or delight yourself for a while in my writings please. And all corrections, advice and opinions are welcome. Know that you are the king, queen or royal on this blog. :)
