SHARPENED SENSES

They make all women live in secured walls with ears
…a shut door with eyes
…firmly locked windows with noses
…and a confined ceiling with a mouth, thanks to societal police
The whole body of their buildings have a feeling easily felt by outsiders
So secrecy is ineffective in their dictionaries
No matter how hard they try

So little hidden flaws are seen by microscopic frog eyes
And transmitted through tiptoeing hawking gossips
Making womanhood a hurdle
And living it,
…a struggle of self defense
Or a battle of defiance
Either way
A loss of living true to selves in comfort

But I choose the unlisted third
Wearing indifference when toothless dogs bark
Booting attention seekers in their full wake
Wearing full armour when fiery lionesses chase
Giving them a run for their resources
To a river mirror so they can see their horrible mental stupor

Because I’ve earned a life
And I’ll spend it
To feel alive, I’ll defend it
Yes, I’m so rocking my ladyship in an awesome ride
To spare myself the guilt of regrets and frets
When death comes knocking
