At the dawn of our goodbye
The sky weeps
Tears whose ingredients are
Pain
Loss
Loneliness
Uncertainty
Failure
And fear
But these tears fall to toughen
The grounds of our hearts
II
Unfairness has a head none wants to see
Tribal voices stopping in one’s track
Their enemy before the notice
Of his footprints
Is hard, I know
But who wants to defy
The voices of perceived wisdom
And risk falling into an unknown pit
Of deceit?
What ladder will there be for an outside climb?
III
As we part,
Like an aggrieved pair
Seeing the unfair’s ugly head
Let’s not its face stare
Or a porridge of bitterness will cook
Burning the very pots of our hearts
Cracking or bursting them into unrepairable pieces
