HU ME ABENKWAN

“Hu me abɛ”

And let its scent have running legs

“Hu me abɛ”

And dress it with crawling crabs

Let the salmons shine in their numbers

“Hu me abɛ”

If prekɛsɛ walks through with its scented self

It will leave it as sweet as an angelic perfume

“Hu me abɛ, ma ɛman nbↄn mu”

And let the snails cushion its grounds

You can add a lot of onions and ginger

Fetching a few of its blood

And when it is near arrival,

Let it simmer on whispering fire

As fufu sits beckoning for a reunion

Then I will know that

“w’ahume abɛ ama m’afiiili”
