In this deep hot night
All thoughts don’t go right
For no light shone bright
In my dream so I woke with a fright
II
I saw shadows in high height
Threatening to fly like a kite
And scaring me with all their might
So I screamed at the sight
III
It could be the political plight
Which has rendered pockets quiet
And stopped all things right
Causing stomach beings to fight
IV
Wills don’t quite
get the message of motivation right
They conquer fright in a fight
As my body join the shadows and my soul watches the sight
V
All in my soul were tight
The body gave me quite the fright
So I jumped like a kite
Only to fall on my bed in the middle of the night
VI
These travels of the night
Why can’t dreams roam without a bite?
We work real alive only to sometimes sight
Horrors in dreams of the night
Disappointingly waking in fright

For me when my intentions are high, there is always someone there to pull me down. But I can’t get discouraged. For when a heart is pure the devil becomes your witness. There is no sure fire way to stand with your words that speak the truth without someone coming at you. I wish I had an answer but I don’t

It’s funny because usually when I wake from nightmares, I am happy to see that they were just dreams. Your last line, when you say you are disappointed to wake in fright implies what you are waking to is worse than your nightmares. How terrible for some.

That’s true. When you wake and the cause of your nightmare happens to exist in real life; the bills keep piling etc, you are disappointed instead of being relieved Marissa. I guess it really is a terrible for some.

I like the poem much. Don’t fight with words in your dreams. Sleep tight. I’m just teasing you. Nice poem anyway. 🙂
