I was there
And struggled to be here
I am here
And struggling to be back there
The nauseous smell of the cold
Makes me wish for the smiles of the sun
The sorry faces of race
Makes me wish for my root race
I am here;
My dream come true
My mind is there;
My wish reversed
What I thought was, is not
A black jewel in white snow
Snow threatening to make this jewel a show
Earthly gods of African soil,
Please provide a flying boat
To ferry this soul and body across this sea
This sea of alienhood

I’ve lived in places where I didn’t belong. I wanted to come home and couldn’t afford. I was an alien in a strange land. I know how it feels. I love this one a lot. You told a total story, leaving nothing out.

Yes, thinking about not belonging. Sad being treated like trash when you are a queen or king in your land. Sad.
